INDIA BANNED 16 FIXED DOSE COMBINATION
India just banned 16 Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs with immediate effect. The Health Ministry issued the order under Section 26A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, on June 11, 2026.

An expert committee + Drug Technical Advisory Board reviewed them after a Supreme Court direction. They found these 16 combos lack therapeutic justification and the risks outweigh any benefit. Review started in 2021, final report submitted Dec 28, 2024.

Manufacture, sale, distribution, and supply of these 16 FDCs is prohibited across India immediately.
