About yoga day
HERE IS FEW MORE DETAILS ABOUT YOGA DAY -
The Ministry of Ayush picked this theme to push yoga as preventive healthcare. The idea: stay mobile, strong, and mentally sharp as you age. Think better balance, joint health, bone density, heart health, and less stress.
Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav said it’s about “learning the art of ageing gracefully and healthily” - something Indian sages lived by.
2. What’s the “Common Yoga Protocol”?
It’s a 45-min sequence designed by the govt that most public events follow. Usually 7-7:45am. Goes like this:
Loosening practices → neck, shoulders, knees
Standing poses → Tadasana, Vrikshasana (Tree Pose)
Sitting poses → Vakrasana, Paschimottanasana
Prone poses → Bhujangasana (Cobra)
Supine poses → Pawanmuktasana, Shavasana
Breathing → Pranayama: Anulom Vilom, Bhramari
Meditation + Sankalpa.
3. Quick “Healthy Ageing” routine - 10 min at home
If you missed the 5am events, try this:
Tadasana - 1 min - posture + balance
Cat-Cow - 2 min - spine mobility
Chair Pose - 1 min - leg strength
Seated Forward Bend - 2 min - hamstrings + calm nerves
Anulom Vilom - 3 min - breathing for BP + focus
Shavasana - 1 min - recovery
