ABOUT THE FILM 

It picks up 4 years after Spider-Man: No Way Home. At the end of No Way Home, Doctor Strange’s spell made the world forget Peter Parker ever existed. 

Official synopsis from Sony/Marvel:

“It's a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn't remember him - and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him - sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn't forgotten them.” 

Key plot points from trailers + synopsis:

Peter is alone: MJ {Zendaya} and Ned {Jacob Batalon} don’t remember him. Peter watches them move on, even sees MJ with a new boyfriend.

Full-time Spider-Man: With no Peter Parker life left, he’s devoted himself to protecting NYC 24/7.

Physical change: The pressure triggers “an unexpected physical change that threatens his existence”. Bruce Banner warns it could be “enormously dangerous” if DNA is mutating. Some fans think it ties to The Other comics storyline where Peter undergoes a spider metamorphosis.

Invisible villain: The main threat is described as “a powerful villain no one can even see”. Rumors point to Sadie Sink playing Jean Grey with telekinetic cloaking, but Marvel hasn’t confirmed.

The comic connection

“Brand New Day” is also a 2008 comic storyline that ran in Amazing Spider-Man #546–564. After One More Day, Peter’s marriage to MJ was erased and his secret identity restored. The comics put Peter back to basics: single, broke, and starting over. Marvel is actually reviving that era with a new Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day comic in May 2026.
