Samsung is rumored to launch both a standard Z Fold 8 and a new Z Fold 8 Wide:

Z Fold 8: 8" main + 6.5" cover display, 200MP main camera

Z Fold 8 Wide: 7.6" 4:3 main + 5.4" cover, shorter/wider form, 50MP main.

Displays: 8" LTPO AMOLED inner, 6.5" cover, both 120Hz. Peak brightness up to 2,600 nits

Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy

RAM/Storage: Up to 16GB LPDDR5X, up to 1TB UFS 4.0

Cameras: 200MP main + 12MP ultrawide + 10MP 3x telephoto. Dual 12MP or 10MP selfie cams

Battery: 5,000mAh, big jump from 4,400mAh on Fold 7

Charging: 45W wired, up from 25W. Some leaks say 60W. 15W-20W wireless + 4.5W reverse

Build: 4.5mm unfolded, IP68 water/dust resistance. Carbon-fiber back panel for lighter weight. Crease ∼20% less visible

Software: Android 16/17 with One UI 9. 7 years of updates. New "Gemini Intelligence" AI features.

Big upgrades vs Fold 7: Battery +14%, 45W charging, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, less visible crease, 200MP camera

Trade-offs: Still no S Pen slot rumored. Wide version drops telephoto for better tablet-like aspect ratio.
