Kia’s first mass-market EV for India. Teased officially and expected late July / early August 2026
1. PLATFORM & DESIGN
Base: Shares body shell with ICE Kia Syros compact SUV
EV-specific changes:
Front: Closed-off panel instead of grille for better aero
Charging Port: Front left fender
Wheels: New aero-designed alloy wheels
Bumpers: Slightly revised front + rear bumpers
Carried over: Boxy stance, L-shaped LED DRLs, vertical headlamps, squared wheel arches
Goal: Look familiar but clearly signal "EV"
2. INTERIOR & FEATURES - Expected
Kia is keeping the layout similar to ICE Syros but adding EV touches:
Screens: Dual 12.3-inch displays - infotainment + digital instrument cluster
Comfort: Panoramic sunroof, ventilated front + rear seats, leatherette upholstery with new trim
Tech: 360-degree camera, wireless charging, connected car tech with Kia Connect
Convenience: Wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting
EV Exclusive: Vehicle-to-Load V2L - charge laptops, induction stove, other EVs from the car
Safety: 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, ADAS likely - adaptive cruise, lane keep, AEB expected on top variant
3. BATTERY, MOTOR & RANGE - Expected
Kia hasn’t released official numbers yet. Based on segment + rivals:
Platform: 400V architecture
Battery: 40-45 kWh lithium-ion pack
Motor: Single motor FWD, ∼130-150 HP
Range: 350-400 km ARAI certified
Charging:
DC Fast: 10-80% in ∼45-50 mins
AC: 7.2 kW home charger, 0-100% in ∼6-7 hours
4. PRICE, VARIANTS & LAUNCH
Launch Window: July 23-30, 2026
Expected Ex-showroom: Rs 14 Lakh starting
Variants: Likely 3-4 variants - Base, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ with bigger battery on top
Competition: Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, Tata Punch EV, MG Windsor EV
5. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Features per rupee: Dual 12.3" screens + V2L + ventilated rear seats at ∼14L is segment-first
Kia after-sales: 7-year warranty likely, like other Kia EVs
Design: More SUV-like and premium vs Punch EV, more practical than Coupe-style EVs
6. PROS & CONS
Pros: Premium cabin, big screens, V2L, Kia reliability, expected 400km range
Cons: Charging network still growing, no AWD option expected .
