A COMPANY IS HIRING FOR CHIEF BREAKUP OFFICER

The Company Hiring

Dating.com - online dating platform

Job Overview

Title: Chief Breakup Officer

Type: Part-time, fully remote

Pay: $3,000/month ≈ ₹2.8 Lakh/month

Purpose: Fight "ghosting" culture by professionally ending relationships for users who can't do it themselves

Status: Applications open until August 31, 2026

What You'd Actually Do

Get on calls to break up with someone on behalf of a Dating.com user

Read the relationship - decide right words, tone, and approach

Assess messiness - rate each breakup: Easy exit, Complicated, or Complete disaster

Deliver closure - give the "it's over" talk with empathy so people don't just disappear

Who They're Looking For

Emotional intelligence: Exceptional EQ, strong communication skills

Experience: Survived at least 3 breakups yourself

Reputation: The friend everyone calls before sending a breakup text

Dating knowledge: Deep understanding of modern dating - relationships, situationships, "it's complicated"

Skills: Stay calm under emotional pressure, turn messy endings into respectful goodbyes

Quote: "If you're the go-to friend for dating advice... we just swiped right on you"

Why This Role Exists

84% of Gen Z & millennials have been ghosted

Dating expert Jaime Bronstein: "People have never enjoyed tough conversations, modern technology has made it easier to avoid them"

Goal: Replace silent exits with respectful closure.

 Daily Workflow Would Look Like:

Intake: User submits breakup request + context: 2 weeks or 2 years? Cheating? Still living together?

Triage: You rate messiness upfront - Easy exit vs Complete disaster

Scripting: Decide words/tone. Gen Z breakup ≠ Millennial divorce talk

Delivery: Call/text/video. You become the proxy ex

Aftercare: Document for Dating.com. Did they block you? Did it escalate?
