This was the big clash between Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters and Delhi Police.

1. The March
What: CJP called a "Sansad Chalo" march to Parliament
Where: Started from Jantar Mantar, Delhi
Time: Monday morning, 20 July 2026
Crowd: Students, professionals, families. Thousands gathered
Demands: Resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET/paper leaks, exam reforms, compensation for families .
2. Police Action
Permission: Delhi Police said no permission was sought for the march
Security: Heavy barricades, welding on barricades, Central Secretariat metro station closed
Clash: Police used tear gas and batons to stop protesters from breaching security barricades near Parliament
Detentions: Police detained injured protesters during the march.
3. Controversial Moments
Some CJP protesters threatened: "Sansad Bawan will be razed...will make this like Nepal"
CJP alleged an ambulance was driven into Jantar Mantar with no medical emergency.
4. Govt Response
For the first time, the govt reached out:
JP Nadda, Union Health Minister met 2 CJP leaders: Saurav Das + Ashutosh Ranka at his residence
Meeting lasted ∼10 minutes
Nadda assured he would hold internal talks and discuss CJP demands with govt leadership
Official sources said a formal govt statement is possible.
5. CJP Statement
CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das posted on X: "After waiting for more than 2 hours... he has assured us that he will meanwhile speak internally. We are in that process. There is news of mass detention etc" .
Context
CJP has been camping at Jantar Mantar for 1 month. The movement started in May after the CJI called unemployed youth "cockroaches" and grew after NEET/paper leaks. .
